Kylie got sick today, in Tiffany’s truck. They were on the way to Tiffany’s Dad’s house when Kylie got sick. I was at work but luckily was able to come home so they could stop at my place and clean up Kylie, Kylie’s car seat, and Tiffany’s truck, and Tiffany was also able to take my car seat. We knew Kylie was not feeling well as she got sick in her crib during the night, but Tiffany had thought that it was something she had ate the previous night. Even this occurrence in her truck Tiffany thought might have been due to something not agreeing with Kylie that she ate. However, Kylie got sick again tonight at Dan’s house and there is just no denying it, Kylie has the flu. We suspect that Kylie picked this up at day care as we don’t know of where else she might have had exposure, I guess now we just have to wait it out. I wish there was something we could give her to help her, but she is still to young for the normal medicine. It is odd though, if you did not know she was sick you wouldn’t really suspect it as she is still her happy self.

100 Miles Down
Tonight while riding home from work I broke the 100 mile mark on my motorcycle. It took me a little over a week to do, which isn’t that bad considering I haven’t been able to ride as much as I want to. I did get out this past Sunday (my birthday) and ride for about an hour, that ride put the majority of the miles on the bike. I was hoping to be able to ride more, but as of yet I really don’t have a way to carry my laptop with me for work, so when I am on call I can’t ride to work. I am hoping to save up for some saddle bags, but that may not be until next season as they are really expensive. I might be going on a ride next month with some guys from work, we are currently trying to work out the details, I hope that works out as it should be a long fun ride. The planning is currently for a weekend trip, possibly out to the other side of the state, up north and back. we will have to see how that pans out.

Here is a picture I took shortly after I had it delivered to my apartment (I did not want to ride it home on the highway for my first ride). That is my truck behind it and I took the picture with my phone so it is not the best, I will eventually have better pictures, but until then:
And here is a stock photo for better quality:
You can click on the images for a larger view.
In addition to the motorcycle I also got a Snell approved helmet, this Joe Rocket jacket (in black/red), and a cover for the bike.
All in all everything came to a little more money than I was hoping for, but the guys over at Nicholson’s treated me really well (i.e. all the above mentioned accessories were free) and keep my monthly payments to what I told them I wanted, which is under $100 a month. I also have a 3 year warranty on the bike from them and Gap coverage at no extra cost. I would highly recommend these guys as, like I said, they treated me real well.
Licensed to Ride
As of approximately 6:30 tonight I am now legally allowed to ride a motor cycle, as I passed my endorsement exam! The exam was not all that difficult, but some of the questions were worded oddly and that caused me a moments hesitation. I had my certificate from passing my rider course, so i did not have to take the riding exam, only the written. In about two weeks I should have a new license with my endorsements on it. Now it is time to seriously look into getting a motor cycle, nothing to big, just something to start off with. Eventually I would like to get a Harley though. All in due time I guess.
Basic Rider Course
Tonight I finished and passed my Basic (Motorcycle) Rider Course. This means that as soon as I go to the Secretary of State and pass a written exam I will be certified to ride motorcycle. I took the class over two weeks (four nights one week two nights the next) and finished tonight with both a riding and written test. By no means do I consider myself a good rider yet, but that will come with practice. Now I need to start looking into finances and see if I can afford to get a motorcycle of my own and determine when I will take the written test for the state. In any event I am now much closer to getting my own motorcycle.
Finally, More Pictures in Kylie’s Gallery
I have finally gotten around to adding pictures to Kylie’s gallery! I think I am now caught up through year 2, with the obvious exception of any images I lost during my hard drive failure while I was out in MN. All the pictures can be found in her year two gallery. I have pictures ready to start her year three gallery; I just need to find time to get them up. I think I will be doing that gallery differently though. I think I will be doing it in the form Year 3 – June 07 – Date, so there will still potentially be 12 albums but each album could potentially have as many sub albums as days in the month. We will see how that goes, I think it will be easier to implement and more organizational, plus I will be able to tell quicker what days I took the pictures on.
Check Ups and Good Byes
Kylie had her two year doctor’s appointment today, and we were happy to hear the doctor say she is doing excellent! He is very pleased with her verbal development and says she is above average in her ability to pick out basic colors and name them correctly. She now weighs 29 lbs and is 34 inches (2 feet 10 inches) tall. She did receive her first MMR vaccine today and the doctor told us that she may have a fever and soreness in about a week. She took the shot really well with only a little crying, but everything was fine once she got a sticker.
After Kylie’s doctors appointment we went back to the hotel for dinner and then some swimming. Kylie really got a kick out of watching me and Uncle Sonny jump into the water, I don’t know if it was the big splash we made or just that we were jumping in, but we repeated it a number of times for her. After swimming everyone decided that instead of staying another night they would just leave tonight and try to beat the majority of the traffic. So after everyone got out of there swim clothes and got all their items packed up, we said our good byes and ended our nice little family reunion.
More Family Time
Today we spent the day at Chris and Tracey’s place where we got to watch Chris and the babies play in a sprinkler, but not your usual sprinkler. It was a giant beach ball that attached to the hose and became a giant beach ball sprinkler! It was really kind of neat and once I get the year three pictures up in the gallery you can see images of it there. After that we all went out to eat at Red Robin and then went back to the hotel to relax and play some games.
Birthday Party
Today was Kylie’s second birthday party. We had a bar-b-que at Tiffany and Kylie’s house to celebrate. We set a tent up in the backyard and put a table with the food underneath, and there were a couple of seats under there as well. The day was really hot but the fact that a lot of the family was able to make it out from NY more than made up for that.
Tiffany made two cakes, one was shaped like a castle and had Cinderella on it, and the other was shaped like Cinderella’s coach. Eventually I will have pictures of both the cakes and pictures from the rest of the day up in the year three gallery.
They’re here!
The family is here that is. After about an 11 hour trip I am happy to say that the family has made it out here successfully. I took them to their hotel and then we all went out for dinner at Old Country Buffet, where we met up with Tiffany and Kylie. After dinner we went over to Meijer where I think Sonny may have discovered his new favorite store. We then went back to their rooms for a little while and then let everyone get settled in, as tomorrow will most likely be a long day.
