Wiard’s and Zoo Boo Pictures

Have finally been posted to Kylie’s gallery. The pictures from our day at Wiards Orchard can be found here and the images from this years Zoo Boo can be found here. I think this catches me up on all of Kylie’s pictures. I am sure there will be more that will be taken and then put me behind again, but I will try to keep on top of them. Until the next round of pictures are taken and due, enjoy.

Meeting with the Adjuster

I met with Paul, my claim adjuster, this morning and he looked over my motorcycle. I have to say I was incredibly shocked. Apparently there is over $2000 worth of damage down the side of the motorcycle. Here is a list of what the adjuster has found and wrote up for replacement:

  • Brake master cylinder lever
  • $37.42
  • Handlebar
  • $131.60
  • Throttle grip assembly
  • $44.36
  • Right mirror
  • $48.05
  • Right front footboard
  • $67.20
  • Brake pedal
  • $26.29
  • Front Muffler
  • $576.95
  • Rear muffler
  • $576.95
  • Exhaust pipe cover, rear
  • $198.88
    ——————————————– ———–
  • Total Repairs:
  • $1707.70
  • Estimated Time: 2.7 Hours @ $72 p/h
  • $194.40
  • Estimated Tax @ 6%
  • $102.46
    ——————————————– ———–
    Total Cost of Claim: $2004.56

Out of all that I will have to come up with $500, I guess that isn’t so bad considering the insurance will pick up the rest. All the work is slated for replacement parts and not just repair, so everything will be new. There is the possability that there might be some other damage that won’t be realized until the shop takes a look at the motorcycle, so these numbers may change. I will most likely need to borrow Chuck’s trailer so I can bring the bike to the shop at the begining of the season. Until then I will just need to wait.

    System Upgrade

Lately I have noticed the sight seems to be loading a little slowly. In an attempt to help rectify this I have performed a memory upgrade on the web server, and though it is technically not a lot, I have doubled the system RAM to 512MB. Though I would like to increas it more I think that is the maximum amount this particular machine can handle. It does seem to have helped some, so I guess it has server its purpose. Perhaps I should consider moving the site to a proper hosting service. I can always route the domain name to another IP with relative ease. The only thing I would need to worry about is the cost, as I really don’t have the money to pay for external hosting. Plus with all the pictures that I maintain on this site I think I might go over a typical hosting sites space quota. I guess for the time being the memory upgrade really will have to suffice.

    This Year’s Zoo Boo

We went to the Zoo Boo again this year at the Detroit Zoo. This year in addition to Kylie, Myself, and Mommy we were joined by Mimi and Aunt Melissa. Kylie wore her Ariel (Little Mermaid) costume and once again appeared to have a lot of fun. This is one event that I look forward to every year, and am hoping that it can turn into a yealry tradition. I took a few pictures and I will get them posted into Kylie’s gallery as soon as I can, but this will most likely take me some time. I will post when they are available.

    Motorcycle Claim Update

I have spoken to the claim adjuster for my claim, and I will be meeting with him (Paul) next week out at Chuk’s so he can do an estimate of the damage to my bike. I do have a $500 deductable that I will need to pay no matter how much damage there is to the bike. I guess I will have to wait and see how it goes.

    Motorcycle Claim

Well I decided to call the insurance company and get a claim started for my motorcycle. Not sure what is going to come of this though. They are supposed to have a claims adjuster call me tomorrow. I am hoping that it can wait until the beginning of next riding season to get fixed, but if not then perhaps someone can lend me a trailer to bring the bike to the shop. Maybe it would be best to have it looked at over the off season, there are some other things I want to have checked out too. I still think my speedometer is off, even though that entire unit was replaced at the beginning of this season, and I think my gas gauge is off too. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens.

    New Voice Mail

I finally got around to getting a new voice mail from Kylie up. This is one that she left for me when I was heading out to PA in September for work. I still love that I can go back and listen to all these and hear her speech improve. She is such an amazing little girl!

    My Riding Season Ends

Rode the motorcycle over to Chuck’s tonight, because he is being so kind as to allow me to store it at his house this year. While there I had him take a look at, and confirm, an issue with it, as it turns out it appears that my handle bars may be bent. I am not sure how I will handle this yet, I will need to think about it. I guess I should explain… A few days back I got a call while I was at work from Melissa. She told me she had looked out the window and saw my motorcycle lying on its side, someone had knocked it over, most likely by backing into it. Some guys came along and were nice enough to pick it up for her/me and I checked it when I came home. Everything looked fine, but after riding it something felt odd. After having Chuck look at it tonight turns out I was right. I am pretty sure I have a $500 deductible on it, but I also think that to fix it will cost more than that. I guess I will have to see.

    Ch-ch-ch-changes

Wow! What a long and insanely productive night! As can be plainly seen, I have created an entirely new layout for the site. However, should I change it here is a visual record:

In addition, and perhaps less noticeable, is the new domain name: http://kingspride.org. I registered it tonight after the idea for this site came to me yesterday. All of this was a lot of work and odds are there are more changes that will take place down the road as I perfect everything and tweak it to be just what I want. Now it is time for bed though.

    Collections Update

I finally got around to doing a little bit of site maintenance and updates. I have finally updated the collection pages to reflect some new books and movies I have aquired recently. In addition I have also added in my Wii games, even though I only have three at the moment. This may or may not change over time, especially as I have a habit of trading games in as I either beat them or just get tired of them. I also borrow games from friends in an attempt to save some money. I have already borrowed Resident Evil 4 from Torrey and beaten that, plus I have traded in House of the Dead 2 & 3 (two games, one disk) as I have beaten it. As such those games are not in the list, only the three games I currently have, not including the Wii Sports game that comes with the Wii console. I have a few other updates in mind for the site as well, I guess we shall see if I ever get around to implementing them.
