Toy Story 3

Took Kylie and Melissa to see Toy Story 3 today over at the Quality 16 off of Jackson Ave in Ann Arbor, and boy was that a great idea! We have all seen the first two (in fact Daddy owns them on DVD, he’s a sucker for the Disney cartoons) and we were all looking forward to seeing the new addition to the series. I think it is safe to say that the movie was everything we expected. Kylie loved and Daddy and Melissa really enjoyed it too. The continued story of Woody and the gang was great, rarely does a third movie in a set hold up as well as this one did. This is the first time that Daddy has taken Kylie to the movies, and it was great and I can’t wait for another movie to come out that I can take her too again. Apparently while we were inside enjoying the movie, outside tornado warnings were going on. By the time the movie had ended and we went to go outside and Daddy turned his phone back on he had a number of messages from Mommy asking if we were all OK. It was definitely another fun and eventful day.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2

So I found this high quality trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest today. This movie is of course the sequel to 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. I personally thought that the first movie was pretty good, and based off of this trailer I am really looking forward to seeing this one as well.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I went and saw this movie last night and I have to say that I am very happy with it. Having read the book I can honestly say that they did a very good job with keeping as true to the book as possible. This is an improvement over the last movie, which was different from the book from almost the first minute. I was very impressed with how they portrayed “Mad Eye”, as he was almost exactly as I had pictured him. This is also the first movie where we get to see Lord Voldemort as he is now, and the scene of his “rebirth” was also very true to the book. The movie is considerably abridged, but that is to be expected when a book becomes a movie. I have also already heard some people complaining that this movie is “too dark” and not suited for children. Well there is a reason that the movie is rated PG-13, and had people read the book they would have known that it is dark. In any event, I am looking forward to seeing this movie again when it comes to DVD as I know I will be purchasing it. The only thing left to do now is wait until 2007 for Order of the Phoenix to be released in theaters.

Star Wars Ep. 3 Abridged Script

Being the Star Wars geek that I am (ok, so I am not all that bad actually) I have of course seen The Revenge of the Sith. Now I am by no means saying it was the greatest movie of all times, Star Wars or otherwise, but I did enjoy it. That being said, I stumbled upon The Editing Room tonight, more to the point, I found the Abridged Script for Star Wars Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith, this is a very humorous read for anyone who has seen the movie.

Underworld 2

While reading through Digg tonight, part of my nightly routine, I found out that the Underworld 2 site has gone live. This is sweet. I loved the first Underworld and was truly hoping they would make the sequel. The site isn’t really anything fancy yet, but the message in the beginning:

War was all I had known. In one night, the centuries of bloodshed were over; the lies that had united our kind had been exposed.

Viktor’s death must be explained, or I face an exile deeper
than immortality itself.

I can only hope to reach our last remaining elder before my
punishment is decided, and that the truth will spare my life.

Marcus, descendant of the first true immortal awaits me.

And I must face his reckoning.

Would indicate that the second movie is going to pick up right where the first one left off, without any sort of time lapse. I can’t wait. I only hope that the second one will do justice to what they started in the first one, because lets face it, there have been some pretty shitty sequels in the past.
