Jungle Java Time

Kylie and I went to Jungle Java today so that Kylie could get some good play time in even though it is getting cold out. Although Kylie had been there before with Mommy, it was Daddy’s first time going and I have to say I was very impressed with the place. Jungle Java is basically a giant indoor playground with plenty of room for the parents to sit and read a book or drink coffee or just relax and watch the kids play. Parents can even climb through and play in the jungle if they want. I brought a book to sit and do some reading and watch Kylie play with all the other kids. We had eaten before we went there so we didn’t buy anything from the little cafe they had there, but perhaps next time we might go for lunch and for play time. I was a little surprised when I looked at the time and realized we had been there for 4 hours but Kylie had a blast and the time went by really quick. There was a continuous flux of kids there for her to play with (there were a few birthday parties going on) and at one point one of her classmates (Jeremiah) even showed up, so Kylie constantly had kids to play with. This alone is a big bonus over just going to the park because sometimes there are other kids there for her to play with and sometimes there are none; and she clearly enjoys herself more when there are other children to play with. It cost $6.50 for Kylie to play there (parents are free) with no limit on the amount of time she plays, and after 4 hours that comes out to $1.63 an hour. Let’s see, she is playing inside like she could play outside at the park if the weather were warmer, in a safe warm environment with other children to play with, which also has the availability of food, drink, and bathrooms; yeah I think that is worth the price. I am sure that we will try to go there again over the coming cold months, as it will sure beat staying at home and watching TV all the time; or the other limited indoor activities that we can do. Maybe next time I’ll even climb around the Jungle.
